Finally got 9psi in!

Well, after about 6 hours of trial and error, wanting to kill my car and give up 9psi is on and running sweeeeet!!!!

Thanks to all that have helped me in the past and I'm sure I will need quite a bit of help in the near future!

Did you try the method I recommended to you to get to the alternator? was it that bad that took you so long to change the alternator?

I did your method but found it to be a pain in the ass this first time. Actually, now that I have done it, I could probably do the whole install in 2 hours or less including removal of miscellaneous things and jacking the car up, etc...

I rented an electric impact wrench(11 bucks for the day!) and it zipped the alternator nut right off. The problem I ran into was the freakin JR Alternator Pulley was pressed on from the 50k miles it has been on the car. It wouldnt come off, we hammered it, pried it, everything, finally a friend of mine took an arm off a pulley puller and it had a lip on it and I was able to use it to pry the pulley off. And again, the belts took me a while to get off, but thats my fault for being stupid. Also, if I would have had all the tools ready for the job that would have saved a few trips to the store.

After I had the pulley off the alternator it only took about an hour of work to get everything back on and start the car up.

But I guess I'm happy now, I just got real irritated that the pulley wouldnt come off. If I had to do it again, I could easily do it in a few hours or less.

Congrats man, i remember how i felt first time i drove with 9psi.....on OE Michelin tires. I thought breaking traction loose in 4th was fun, then well, that got old.

Now if we can just get those "3rd Gen. carbon fiber Altezza lights" off your car, you MIGHT be cool! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Like it says, I ran an 8.6 at 83 MPH in the 8th tonight. This was done with 6psi and slicks. I am very happy to say the least. My slicks have over 40 runs on them, so they are about dead, my best 60' was a 2.04, which is pretty crappy. My car was running solid as hell tonight. Not bad for a car with 45 thousand supercharged miles on it.

I figure with some new slicks and 9psi I should be knocking on the 7's.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I've been "offline" as far as hostboard goes for a few weeks.
